Annalisa Temple's Plans
for California Assembly
District 21
Education
Annalisa Temple supports taking the bureaucracy out of the education. Annalisa believes in tax credits, tax deductions and vouchers for parents who home school or want to send their children to private, parochial or charter schools. We must put the control of education back into the hands of the parents. We must ask the Federal and State government to give back public schools to the communities to be managed locally. This will increase accountability, community and parental involvement.
Border Security & Immigration
There is no perfect immigration reform. The state must balance security with the economic benefits of immigration. We need to stop illegal immigration. California must work proactively to assist immigrants whom are here legally to become economically productive.
Entitlement Programs
Private charity is often the first resort for those in need. Our state ought to encourage private philanthropy, and charitable giving.
Health Care
Health care programs need to emphasize patient choice and add cost-saving incentives.
Property Rights & Eminent Domain
Allowing governments, at any level, to confiscate property without a compelling justification represents a serious attack on fundamental liberty. Government’s most basic duty is to protect individual rights, including that of private property ownership, not to diminish them. Racism & EqualityThe Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal. Government should make no law that discriminates based on race, religion, sexuality or any other personal characteristic. Government laws should respect each person as an individual and treat them equally as such.
Spending & The EconomyThe State government cannot continue spending at the current rate. We must use a “scalpel” and an “ax” to cut programs that are not working and are not necessary. The California budget should only be spent on legitimate government functions as stated in our State constitution. The budget must be determined on time.
Taxes
Tax reform is desperately needed in California. We must encourage our citizens to stay in California and that begins with a reform of the tax code. The tax burden is too high and must be reduced as the State reduces its spending.
